Sunnybrook Children's Home

ABOUT: Sunnybrook supports foster parents and children, while also helping older youth develop independence through education, job training, self-discipline, and a strong Christian foundation.

SERVE: Service projects are periodically available on campus, such as painting a room, raking leaves, planting flowers, and more. Other opportunities include tutoring, mentoring, providing a meal, leading an activity or teaching a skill on campus to our residents. Tutoring takes place on week days from 3:45-5:00, and group activities are typically scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays.

ABOUT: We teach and promote the principles of Christian Community development and racial reconciliation. It was founded in Pasadena, California in February 1983 by Drs. John M. and Vera Mae Perkins and a few friends and supporters. In 1998 it moved to Jackson, Mississippi to begin its work in the economically and physically deteriorating West Jackson community.

We Will Go

ABOUT: We are neighbors willing to engage our community with the love of Christ. We provide practical ways for people to get involved. Our ministries include activities related to education, employment, and essential food and hygiene.

SERVE:
"We Will Feed" (feeding program, Mon-Thurs, 8:30-11:30am)
"We Will Learn" (education/tutoring programMon-Thurs, 2-5pm )
3 Saturdays a month by appointment/application on the calendar, serving in Feed, Learn and other service tasks.

ABOUT: Reclaimed Project helps churches in Southern Africa minister to orphans and vulnerable children, and works to empower youth in the Mississippi Delta through education, mentorship, and discipleship.

SERVE: Write notes to teachers and other staff in Marks, MS.
Do a school supplies drive for one of our schools or specific teachers.
Become a virtual tutor for a child who participates in our after school program in Marks, MS.
Travel as a group to serve in Marks to help renovate space for teachers to live, help improve our classroom space for our after-school program, and serve our community partners through coordinated service projects throughout the year.

ABOUT: The Foster Care Ministry at Fondren Church strives to be a source of help, resourcing, and encouragement for the Hinds County Foster Care System. Through an annual Christmas party, parent resource events, and ongoing ministry development we pray we are a taste of God's abounding love for Hinds County 350 plus foster kids and their families.

SERVE: Annual Foster Care Christmas Party - opportunities to serve the night of as well as giving gift cards and gifts that will go to the children and their foster family's.
Committing to being on a contact list as specific foster families request assistance throughout the year.
